Negotiation and Conflict Resolution
Workshop Participants

The AdvanceVT Leadership Development Program selects a cohort of women from across the university who demonstrate an interest in and potential to assume leadership roles for individualized coaching and skill development. The program begins by assessing the current strengths and areas for development of the women in the cohort and provides feedback based on that assessment.  Working with a coach, each woman creates a development plan to capitalize on strengths and address development needs.  AdvanceVT also sponsors a series of workshops to build specific leadership skills, including resolving conflict, negotiation, power and influence, time management, and understanding university finance and budgeting. Workshops utilize both on campus experts and outside consultants. Eighteen tenured women faculty members have participated in the AdvanceVT leadership development program in 2005, 2006, and 2007.

Six senior women faculty members have received fellowships from AdvanceVT to complete self-designed leadership development experiences: Andrea Dietrich and Brenda Winkel in 2004-05, Karen Inzana, Kathleen Jones, and Mary Kasarda in 2006-07, and Naira Hovakimyan in 2007-08.
