Electrical and Spectroscopic Characterization of
Nanoscale Metal-Molecule-Metal Junctions

Considerable attention has been devoted to developing an understanding of the mechanisms that dominate electrical transport in molecular junctions comprised of single and small ensembles of molecules and the role of molecular structure in nonlinear and switching phenomena. In this talk, Dr. Mayer will present an overview of her recent research on the electrical and spectroscopic characterization of molecular junctions inserted along the length and at the intersection of Au and Pd metal nanowires (i.e., in-wire and crossed-wire junctions) fabricated by template-directed synthesis and electrofluidic nanowire assembly.
