Literature Review: AdvanceVT Program Elements
Over a five-year period the ADVANCE group at Virginia Tech plans to initialize change on specific domains pertaining to women in S&E. The domains of interest include Empowering Women as Leaders and Scholars, Increasing the Representation of Women, and Advancing Women in Faculty Careers.
Although each domain is a separate progressive step in the goals of the ADVANCE program at Virginia Tech, the literature shows the issues that affect the successful implementation of one domain (i.e. Empowering Women as Leaders and Scholars) are the same issues that affect all the domains.
