Naira Hovakimyan, Professor, Aerospace & Ocean Engineering

Dr. Hovakimyan used this leadership grant to develop the core mission of the Virginia Center of Autonomous Systems (VaCAS) to promote research related to control of autonomous systems. She led the center's effort to establish a process for continuous review and improvement of graduate courses supporting the VaCAS mission and introduced a new graduate level course entitled Introduction to Robust Control, which supported a variety of ongoing research activities within VaCAS.
